President Bob Martin, class of ’72 welcomed all attendees at the 52nd DCHS Alumni Reunion.  Vice President Terri Crandell Eberly, class of ’73, gave the invocation and the meal followed. During the dinner, Bruce Piller ’63, spoke about his experience as a bandmember of “The Chancellors, which was inducted into the Nebraska Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Alumni receiving special recognition were Rose Marie Fricke Kobza, class of ’48, earliest alumni class represented; Allen Franta ’73 traveling the greatest distance, Jacksonville, FL; and Jean Martin Hansen ’49,  who had attended every alumni banquet held to date. Marv Aldrich spoke briefly as a representative of the 50-year class, 1973.

Following the cheer and dance squad’s performance of the DCHS Fight Song, the 2023 Alumni Scholarship recipients were announced: Ava Neujahr, Braxton Small, and Cassidy Wieser.

Nominations for the 2023-2024 officers were opened and Jenna Daro Urban and Ellen Daro Robinson were elected as Co-Vice Presidents. The gavel was passed to Terri Crandell Eberly who adjourned the meeting and invited all to stay for the musical tribute to “The Chancellors” performed by the “Classics”, whose members include several of the class of ’73.
